A brief break
We just completed some great shows. July 3rd was 2 shows worth of grassy goodness at the Balcony Bar & Grill plus the Summit. Long night. July 4th was a very very very very very cold night complete with snow at the skinny cabin around 12,000 feet. On to this week, we played a great set at boomtown, a fundraiser for Durango's Burning Man Camp, that was good times, late nights, and fun fun fun. A really cool taper has been recording our shows and posting them to archive, so please make sure you keep up on them. Another podcast will be coming soon, so we go that going on. Other than that we're gonna enjoy summer until we pick things back up in September. For up to the minute updates and stuff like that, check our twitter or facebook pages!

Ridgeway
The Ridgeway River Festival was a great time, a smaller event than Fibark, but no less fun. We played with a stand in bass player who did a fantastic job, thanks to Mike Enriquez. Also got to meet the Denver based band James & The Devil who kicked ass. All in all a great trip, thanks to our intrepid soundman, Ryan Williams, the sound was fantastic.

Stinky Water!
We just had an awesome healing time at Pagosa Hot Springs. We played a 6-9pm gig, sure it wasn't *exactly* our demographic, but people had fun, we had fun and all went well. Following the show we all got to kick it in the hot springs till the weeee hours and are left feeling... rubbery.

News, Blues, Booze
We just returned from Salida where we played at the Victoria Tavern for both nights of the FIBARK Whitewater festival. Awesome time, great people, the Vic is truly a wonderful experience for any band, especially the semi haunted beer saturated ex brothel upstairs that serves as the band's residence. I'm fairly certain that this dbag with a guitar is going to go record an album there.
That being said, we play Pagosa Hot Springs tomorrow night (weds) and then on to the Ridgeway River Festival this weekend. A taper made a pretty sweet recording of our last show at the summit, you can download it HERE. Cheers for all the good times!

Cave Rave!
Caverave isn't a rave, and it's not really IN a cave (although there is a cave present) it's more like a bunch of close friends go to a very remote and secluded spot with beautiful cliffs and canyons and we have a party. We bring generators for the band, lightshows for the freakies, and good times for all. We don't advertise it, hell we don't mention on the website until after it has passed.. better that way. We are careful to respect the place, and leave no trace of our presence apart from the lingering smell of insanity. It is a great time where we come together, enjoy each other's company, and in my case, sleep in my tent till 3pm.

Inbetween Days
Sometimes it's nice to have a little break, other times you sit and gnaw on your fingernails waiting to play again. We're hoppin to get recording, and for our summer to begin. We'll be relatively quiet through May, but look for more fun stuff coming in June. Check out my solo projects (including a cover on a new aftergrass song) http://erickiefer.com/?listen=yes and keep your eyes peeled for our updated summer schedule.
On a side note, we keep seeing videos being shot, cameras flashin, all that jazz, but we never get to see the results, if you've got some shots or clips of Aftergrass, please post and tag them or just drop us a line :)

Gunnison, Telluride, Podcast
Great shows in Gunnison and Telluride. Thanks to everyone who came out with bells on. We started in Gunnison on Wednesday, visiting with our buddy Alex and rockin a fun show at the brewery. Something about the crowd up there.. y'all kids get rowdy. On Saturday we headed to Telluride where we played apres ski at the base of the gondola and then a late night show at the Last Dollar saloon. Both shows went great and we met some fun folks, thanks for being there. We stuck around to ski on sunday for the last day of the season, attended the infamous hooligan party, watched Drew Emmitt jam on the mountain with durango songwriting hero Benny Galloway on bass. Good times. Next up, the Aftergrass podcast. It will be various live recordings, studio oddities and other fun stuff. Soon come mon, soon come.written by: eric
