On The Road.... Soon
We've got the bug and we wanna head back out. Anyone? Your town? I suppose heading west would be the best thing to do on our way to the great pacific. If you know good venues throughout Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, BC, please... now is the time to drop us a line. Sure sounds like fun.

Cheers!

All roads lead to Telluride
We started this little jaunt of a ski tour in Telluride, and we ended it in Telluride. This time around we had a fantastic packed house of funzies show up. It was a great time all in all.. We stayed an extra day to nurse hangovers and ski. This was scribbled on paper from he night of the show (no wifi) "telluride came out with bells on for our show at the Bubble Lounge, it was a great night.. very cramped stage and it was a tense setup, but all in all turned out to be a great show. We're back at the condo, it's about 10 till 3am and there's gotta be 30 people here. I think I'm scared to crash on the floor for fear of being taken into the street and ridden like a sled. " so yeah.. funzies! So Saturday we head to Silverton, gonna be a great time up there, the 24th.. Pride Of The West... Funzies.

Remember Dialogue?
So a few years ago, our former bass player, Mike, told these guys from a band called Dialogue that he could play drums for them at a show. He decided later that maybe he couldn't pull it off and he asked me to cover it for him. Hip Hop... With real instruments. I was skeptical, but what the hell. We got together and I met 4 kids who I'll never forget. We toured, we opened for 2 live crew even. We put out a CD, we toured some more. I learned a ton about music, I learned a ton about friends, and I learned everything I know about the road. Kelly joined us later and came on the last tour or two, making us the only hip hop act in recorded history (as far as I know anyway) with a live mandolin player. They were great times. Aftergrass & Dialogue split bills and brought hippies and hip hopsters together. It was a good time. Dialogue ran into troubled times, drama unfolded, then the band dissolved. I really don't think any of us wanted that, but it's just what happened. T, the bass player moved to San Fran... Jared one of the MCs moved to Seattle... Tyson got married (aftergrass played the wedding), and Brandon waited patiently. This story is all unfolding into Friday, Jan 30th 2009. During the Aftergrass snowdown show, Dialogue will perform their first show in over two years. People are flying in from far and near to play together one last time, or one first time, who knows... It's going to be a hell of a night.

We Are Back!
Well the trip to Jackson was nothing short of magical! That mountain... RULES. I mean the shows were great and all.. But that mountain... I'm getting misty eyed just thinking about it. 4000 vertical feet of pure unadulterated love. The band got some great ski-bonding time together and we were all just tickled to ride. Did I mention that the mountain kicks ass? We had a special time there and met some special people. The Mangy Moose is known as one of the top Apres-Ski locations in the world. They've got a heap of sweet bartenders and cocktail waitresses (hi girls!) and a cool crowd. Scotty the soundman was a fantastic soundman, but being the humble chill dude he was, he'd never tell you about it. Like any ski town, there's of course a share of "i rip dude" bro-brahs who... well let's face it. When some douche is sitting around the bar telling you how good they ski... They're usually.. well.. yeah.

We played 2 nights and one apres-ski gig at the moose, people were shakin. We wanna go back.. We wanna go back right now! But we'll have to settle for heading to Telluride to play the Grand Opening of the Bubble Lounge (our second gig there.. the grand opening? yep) We recorded a few shows from the tour, and they'll be up on Archive.org soon, I'll keep ya posted! Love luck and lollipops!

Thanks Summit!
Man... we sure love the Summit. Coming off a road trip and into the crazy world of the Durango Summit is a real treat. That was the first time Summit Owner Scottie joined us on the stage! Crazy! A beautiful dancin audience made our night special, and man you guys were throwin down. Another fantastic night of pure debauchery! We leave in the morning for Jackson Hole where we're gonna ski and maybe play some shows too ;-) Just kidding, we're playing 3 shows including two fun ones at the Mangey Moose!

Days... uhm.. the other ones...
So I didn't have WIFI for a while, so I didn't get an entry written.. So the following night we played in Denver again at Dulcinea's. Not a lot of folks out that night but it was sweet, always love Dulcinea's. So then.. we were up in the air about playing there a second night, but that fell through, so we went over to see Jesse's folks over by Aspen. We skiied snowmass the next morning, then later had our show there fall through.. (we told them to put aftergrass first and puppet show second and ... well) So we went bowling. Fuck it dude. Let's go bowling.

The next night we played Bobbie's in leadville and had a fantastic show. Lovin ol Bobbie's. So tomorrow it's the Summit back in Durango, then tuesday 2 nights in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Then back to Silverton for the following saturday. Hey, there's a lot of driving and we have to SKI of course.

Day 2: Suburbs and Stripmalls..
We're up in Denver and had a show at a place called the washpark grille. The food was pretty damn good. The show was pretty good. We recorded it, we'll see if there's any gems in there.

From the Durango Herald Police Blotter
Hahahahaha!

"1:38 a.m. People were sitting in blue chairs in the middle of the 1200 block of Camino del Rio, throwing things into the road."
