Roadtrip We're heading up to Silverthorne, Co tomorrow night to play at the DAM brewery, and then friday night we'll be heading over to Denver to open for Larry Keel at Dulcinea's on Colfax, pretty damn excited about that. Things are going excellent, new recordings of oodles of new songs coming soon but the best way to hear them is to come see us. Check the site in the next few days for updated pictures, new music, and good times. written by: eric posted on: August 20, 2008

Where have we been? We've been plugging along, having a good time, riding the rivers, climbin hills, enjoying the spring. We're on a fairly tight regimen these days as far as practice and writing, we've got new songs, and new ways of playing old songs. Josh has fit comfortably into the lineup, adding a lot in the vocal arena. Our next big day is this coming saturday, the 21st of June: We start at the Durango Rocks Summerfest at River Days at 3:30pm. When we're done there, we'll pack up and head to the Summit where we'll play till the weeee hours. Don't miss a day of music and shameless debauchery. written by: eric posted on: June 17, 2008

Booking Summer Dates, Another CD.. We're starting to book dates for Summer 2008. You already know about the river days dealy, however you don't know that we'll be rockin the Summit shortly after the daytime show. It's going to be a great time. Also, look for our new CD on radio stations around the country, we've been sending them here and there. If you know a good outlet for our debut CD, please let us know. Also, if you know a radio station that has it, call them up and tell them to play it. We want to at least give this thing a good run before our next CD comes out with Josh on it and has a slightly different (albeit way more rockin) sound. Also.. we have tee shirts for sale for 15 bucks, it's the tree graphic that is on the CD on a black shirt. If you don't know what the tree graphic that is on the CD looks like, you should probably get a CD too. We never know how many shirts we'll go through so we don't have them for direct sale like the CD, just email us and we'll see if we've got your size.

River Days So the river days celebration has been merged with the Durango Rocks! Summerfest... Or maybe that's the other way around, but.. regardless of who merged with who, we're going to be playing on the 21st of June at Santa Rita Park, not the fairgrounds. The riverdays celebration is a lot of fun, rafters, kayakers, tubers and other maniacs float down the river, get drunk and have fun.

The War... So the next time someone talks about the war in Iraq.. try this (Hey, let me preface this by saying I was opposed to this war from day 1 hence the song "war with utah not iraq") So when someone talks about the war in Iraq (whether they support it or oppose it) ask them to name 5 countries that border Iraq. If they can't, stop the argument, they're unqualified to even have the conversation. Ask them a little about the history of Iraq, the history of the Bedouins or the history is Islam. If they can't tell you anything, they're unqualified to have the conversation. Ask them which two famous rivers which cradled civilization are in Iraq, if they don't know... they're not worthy to even speak the word "Iraq". More and more it is shameful to see both sides of this argument because they're made by people who have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Rhetoric has become king, knowledge is out to lunch and we look retarded in the eyes of people in countries whose education system doesn't export morons. I wouldn't be so silly to actually make a statement about how I (or we) felt about this situation since most people who'd hate us for one idea or the other couldn't actually find Iraq on a map. By the way, I've often encouraged everyone else in the band to write here... They have the technology, i'm just the only one with a big fucking mouth.

grunt wow, my own system just bit me in the ass. I just accidentally closed my web browser with a mostly written blog on there.. I'd just written a diatribe on how nice new jersey is, and how it is not always the suburban nightmare many describe it as. It is a state possessing some of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet, and containing more plant and animal species that just about all the other states put together. Much like the Durango area, it is a collision of disparate ecosystems that result in a unique and beautiful climate.
I was getting into Oysters when I accidentally closed the window, and I think I got there by talking about the rich culinary traditions here that follow the harvest time of local produce and seafood. Then I got off-site trying to look up the word that describes oysters, clams and mussels (Bivalves is what they're called) then I ended up on some vegan forum site reading some headier than thou vegans tearing apart some other semi-vegan because he was questioning the sentience of Bivalves. Reading that article made me want to roll around in steak while burning morrissey cds and shooting chickens. They all prefaced each attack on the poor guy by saying "i'm open minded, but" It was hilarious. Call me crazy, but typically open minded arguments don't start with calling the person you're arguing with a murderer because they choose a diet different than yours. I'm not going to even head down that road, but just don't tell me what not to eat. Don't call me a murderer and I won't call you a rope-headed puppydragger. Deal? Cool.
In other news, the philadelphia flyers just beat the pittsburgh penguins or whatever they're called to go the playoffs. Take that, Liggett!
